BERNARD L. LEVINE |
Partner |
|
|
Professionally:
- Bernie has been in public accounting since 1970, when he graduated
from CSU Chico with a Master's in Business Administration. He
received his CPA license in 1975 and has maintained memberships
in the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1978.
In 1992, he received from this last organization, the Certificate
of Educational Achievement in Personal Financial Planning. He
is also a member of the California Society of Enrolled Agents.
- In 1991, the firm of Levine & Collado became a Charter
Member of Enloe 2000, now called Enloe Partners for Health Care,
an affiliate of the Enloe Hospital Foundation. Bernie was Chairman
in 1993 and since then has continued to actively represent the
firm.
- For more than 15 years, Bernie has represented Levine &
Collado at the Chico Network Association, a local business-networking
group.
Personally:
"I am very interested in the stock and bond markets, having
been introduced to them at an early age by my father. I find that
my experience and knowledge in this area is helpful to our clients
in many respects, especially in planning for educational and retirement
needs. I have been happily married for nearly 35 years and have
two great kids. And I recently became a grandfather for the first
time! My wife and I share a love of both travel and the game of
cribbage—I even have a unique collection of cribbage boards
that I display in my office."

JOSE I.R. COLLADO |
Partner |
|
|
Professionally:
- Jose has been in the accounting industry in Chico since 1966.
He received his CPA license in 1982 and has maintained his membership
in the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1983.
He is also a member of the Tax Division of this organization.
- Holding the distinct honor of being the "technical cornerstone"
for the tax department of the firm, Jose'’s keen ability
to wade through the ever-changing Internal Revenue Code is of
great value to our clients.
- He is active in the Chico community through his support of
the Chico Horticulture Society, Bidwell Designers and California
Garden Club.
Personally:
"My number one passion is my family. I have two children and
six grandchildren—all except two are living here in Chico—and
at least once a month we all get together. I love cooking, especially
trying out new recipes; my family is my "guinea pig" for
trying out my new taste adventures! Gardening is my other passion,
or perhaps saying I'm a "plant man" is more correct, as
I am more interested in specific plants than how they look collectively
in a garden setting."

SHERON BOX |
CPA |
|
|
Professionally:
- Sheron has been with the firm since 1987. Shortly after joining
the firm she returned to college and earned her Bachelor's degree
in Business Administration with an option in Accounting from CSU
Chico, while working full time. She received her CPA license in
2006 and is a member of the California Society of Certified Public
Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
- Sheron is well versed in all aspects of small business accounting
and financial statement preparation. She also assists with payroll
tax and sales tax issues, as well as all government filings at
the end of the year. She updates her professional skills through
the Institute of Management Accountants, as well as the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Enrolled Agents
and many other professional organizations.
- Sheron serves as treasurer of the Chico Northern Lights Service
Unit for the Girl Scouts of the Sierra Cascade and on the Board
of Directors for Soroptimist International of Bidwell Rancho.
She is also the firm’s representative at the Chico Chamber
of Commerce events and the Wednesday morning Wake Up Now Networking
Group.
Personally:
"I enjoy both variety and spontaneity in my life. In fact,
life is my passion. I enjoy everything I do and I like to have a
lot of things going on—life is too short to sit still. I enjoy
being outdoors when I am not working and especially enjoy early
morning walks. Although I collect teddy bears (and have often thought
of putting out a sign that says, "Home for Wayward Bears"),
my husband of 40+ years, my three children, my five grandchildren
and good friends bring me my greatest joy."

Personally:
"I live in the mountains and have a Jeep CJ-7, which I love
to drive on the back roads! I enjoy landscaping my house with the
natural vegetation around me—it brings the woods closer to
home.
I have an extensive and fantastic family that makes frequent get-togethers
a lot of fun. One of my other passions is decorating for Christmas
with elaborate displays, some of which can take months of planning
and preparation."
